Seabourn provides the following amenities for blind or visually impaired guests to make their stay on board as comfortable as possible:

• Guests can use daily laptops to download suggested activities, messages, and menus that they can view with screen readering programs.
• If you give the cruise line 45 days notice, Seabourn can provide you with the menus in large print or Braille - this will give you full details of the diverse cuisine found in restaurants from elegant dining rooms to casual eateries. 
• An introductory tour of the ship upon your arrival.

Clothing for the day:
During the day, casual wear, including shorts and jeans, is considered appropriate for the lounges and dining areas. Have swimwear, shorts, towels, and workout clothes ready for activities around the pool, on deck, at the spa, or in the fitness center.

In the evening (after 18:00 p.m.) there are two different dress codes: Elegant casual
Men: long trousers, shirt with collar or sweater; jacket optional.
Women: Long pants or a skirt, blouse, pantsuit or dress. This is the standard dress code for all gastronomic areas.
Jeans are considered appropriate in all dining areas during the day, but not in The Restaurant after 6:00 p.m.
Formal
At the restaurant, men: tuxedo, suit or long trousers and jacket required. Women: evening dress or other formal wear. In other gastronomic areas, “elegant casual” is considered appropriate.

The program shown in the preliminary documents gives you an overview of the number of formal evening events planned for your cruise. As a rule of thumb, formal evening events are planned as follows:

Cruises of up to 13 days: a formal evening event
Cruises of 14 to 20 days: two formal evening events
Cruises of 21 days or more: three formal evening occasions
(Note: other plans can be made for extended explorations, holiday voyages and passages.)

Clothing on land: To be prepared for virtually any climate on cruises, bring clothing that can be worn in layers. For tropical cruises, light, loose clothing that can be combined with light jackets or sweaters is suitable. If you are traveling to cooler areas, you should bring some extra warm clothing such as coats and sweaters. When choosing clothing for shore excursions it is helpful to research the customs of the countries you are visiting. In some ports men and women should refrain from wearing shorts. In many cultures it is welcomed for women to wear dresses or skirts when visiting shrines, churches, mosques and temples.
Note: Firearms, explosives, fireworks, other weapons and knives or sharp blades that are more than 3/4 inches long, and illegal drugs of any kind are prohibited without exception.

The medical facilities on board are equipped to ensure care in the event of unexpected illnesses and accidents. These basic facilities are not designed or intended for the continuous treatment of existing diseases. If you know you will have a medical need, this must be cleared in writing with Seabourn before your booking can be completed.

At Seabourn Square you can easily exchange cash and travelers checks in US dollars, British pounds and euros.

To open your onboard account, you will be asked for your credit card on the day of embarkation and must sign a debit slip. As soon as your onboard account is opened, any onboard credit * will be credited to you. You do not need cash on board as all purchases are debited via the onboard account. At the end of your cruise you will receive an overall invoice for your suite, which you can pay by American Express®, Visa®, MasterCard®, Diner’s Club®, Discover®, travelers checks or cash payment. Please note that personal checks or letters of credit are not accepted as a method of payment.

* Onboard credit cannot be combined, transferred or redeemed for cash. Remaining onboard credit expires at the end of the cruise. Onboard credit cannot be used in the casino.

You can bring as many bags and suitcases as you like on board, but please note that airlines may have restrictions. We recommend checking with your airline and transportation company in advance for information about restrictions and luggage fees. To protect your luggage, please label each bag with the name of the owner, the name of the ship, the date of departure and the suite number. Seabourn's responsibility for baggage is governed by the Guest Cruise Ticket Contract.

Carry-on luggage
Use a handbag or other hand luggage. Keep your travel documents, IDs, medicines, jewelry, cameras, films, cash and other valuables with you at all times. Do not pack your passport, medicine, cruise documents, or airline tickets in the checked baggage. (Please note that the checked baggage may not be accessible at all times.) Keep these items within easy reach, such as your handbag or jacket pocket. We also strongly recommend that you keep important items such as perishable goods, cash, credit or debit cards, jewelry, gold, silver or similar valuables, securities, financial instruments, papers or other important documents or business documents, laptop computers, cell phones, cameras or other video - or to carry electronic devices, hearing aids, electric wheelchairs, electric vehicles, binoculars, films, video tapes, computer hard drives, audio discs, cassettes or CDs with you. Seabourn's baggage liability is governed by the Passage Contract.    

When the ship is at sea, non-denominational Christian services are held on Sundays. When cruises take place during certain religious holidays, clergy hold ecumenical services on board.      

Internet access for guests on Seabourn ships is provided by transmission between satellites orbiting about 32,000 kilometers above the earth and our mobile onboard system. This technology enables Internet access in almost all parts of the world and in the middle of an ocean; however, due to ship movements and limited bandwidth, this satellite service is often much slower and somewhat less reliable than land-based access methods. Two things are largely responsible for this:

• The available bandwidth for satellite transmission is much less than most land-based systems connected with stationary cables with much greater bandwidth capacity.
• Furthermore, a ship system usually has to serve many more users at the same time than most land-based networks. Many people on land use wireless cellular systems for Internet access, which further reduces the demand for wired systems. All data transmissions by these users use part of the available bandwidth. And more users mean slower networks.
  

For these reasons, Seabourn asks guests not to use the Internet service for data-intensive applications such as gaming, file sharing or streaming video content. The onboard internet service usually gives all guests the opportunity to surf the internet and to receive and send e-mails. Guests can use the Internet either at the terminals in Seabourn Square or wirelessly with their own mobile devices in most areas on board; this also includes the guest suites, the lounges and most of the areas on the open decks. A usage-based service fee is charged for Internet access on board. This service fee is used to limit usage to a certain extent and thus improve the service for all of our guests. Guests simply log into Seabourn Square Terminals to set up an account that will be linked to the guest's ship account. The basic fee is 40 US cents ($ 0.40) per minute. In addition, cheaper prepaid fares can be booked on board to meet individual needs. Time-based services can be used at any time during the cruise, either at the terminals or wireless.
   

The Retreat is located on deck 12 of the Seabourn Encore and is a retreat with individual details and modern elements - simply perfect for relaxing in peace. The Retreat offers a particularly peaceful atmosphere under a canopy shaped like a flower, which protects guests from sun and wind. 15 private cabanas in the design of luxury living rooms await you with a large HD flat screen TV and a refrigerator with an individual selection of drinks. 12. How can I book a spa treatment at The Retreat?
Spa treatments at The Retreat can be booked on board through Guest Services in Seabourn Square on Deck 7. If you are already at The Retreat, please contact the concierge at The Retreat to book a treatment. We recommend booking spa treatments as early as possible as spaces are limited.
13. Can I use the USD 50 spa credit towards a pre-booked spa treatment?
Yes. The spa credit can be used for all spa treatments and spa products available on board. This also includes the treatments in the spa cabana at The Retreat.
14. What is the cancellation policy and how can I cancel a cabana?
All reservations can be changed or canceled up to 24 hours in advance. For changes / cancellations within a period of 24 hours up to the booked time of reservation, a 100% fee will be charged for changes / cancellations. To change or cancel your reservation, please contact Seabourn or onboard Guest Services.

Once you become aware of a problem, please report it to an agent, either on board or at the cruise terminal, so that you can file a damage report. This should then be forwarded to your travel insurance company. If your damage report is rejected or the cost of your suitcase (for example) is less than your own contribution, you can send your request in writing to the Guest Relations department.

Full laundry services, dry cleaning (on some ships also wet cleaning) and ironing services are available. The collection and delivery is carried out by the suite attendants. Upon request and for a surcharge, same-day service can be used until 9:00. All Seabourn ships have a free laundrette with washing machines, dryers, laundry detergent and iron.

Depending on the travel route, the climate and the local conditions, you can practice at no cost pedal boating, water skiing, windsurfing and many other water sports from the ship's marina during your cruise. .

For some countries, you must obtain an official permit, a visa, which you must carry with you before entry the country. It is your responsibility to obtain and have all of the documents required for your cruise and to bear all costs associated with obtaining your travel documents. You may be refused embarkation on the ship if you arrive at the pier without the appropriate travel documents. In this case, no refund will be given. Visa requirements and travel documents differ depending on nationality and travel destination. Study your itinerary and review your specific travel needs. As official travel requirements change from time to time, you should contact a visa service or the consulate of any country you plan to travel to no later than three weeks prior to travel time to inquire about the current requirements for travel documents. When booking consecutive cruises, please ensure that you are able to obtain all required visas and vaccinations upon entry at all ports of call on your itinerary. To assist you, Seabourn provides some information on required travel documents, visas and vaccinations. Passengers are nevertheless obliged to have this information confirmed by the relevant state authorities. The information on this page was valid at the time of publication and is subject to change at any time.
Multiple entries: Different ports of call do not necessarily represent a new entry, unless the ship has docked in another country in between.

Visa Waiver Program Terms
The Visa Waiver Program (VWP) allows foreign nationals from certain countries to travel to the United States without a visa for stays of 90 days or less if they meet all the requirements. ALL countries participating in the Visa Waiver Program are required to have electronic passports with special security features (biometric features) for entry into the United States. A biometric characteristic is an electronic scan of a body characteristic such as an eye, hand, fingerprint, or face. This will allow the immigration officers to verify your identity. In addition, travelers must present an electronic travel authorization acquired through the electronic travel authorization system (ESTA). Details on this program and the participating VWP countries can be found below.
Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA)
The electronic travel authorization system is an automated system that determines whether visitors are eligible to enter the United States under the Visa Waiver Program. ALL VWP travelers to the US must complete an online application and present an ESTA-approved travel authorization before traveling by ship or plane. Guests must print out the answer to their ESTA application and carry it with them, as this must be presented at the pier along with their passport. An ESTA must be applied for for each family member taking the cruise. Travelers who have not received an ESTA should be prepared for a denial of boarding of all carriers to the United States. Citizens of the following countries (with the exception of persons with permanent residence in the USA) who participate in the Visa Waiver Program must have an ESTA authorization to enter the USA: Andorra, Australia, Belgium, Brunei Darussalam, Chile, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, New Zealand, Netherlands, Norway, Austria, Portugal, San Marino, Sweden, Switzerland, Singapore , Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, South Korea, Taiwan, Czech Republic, Hungary and United Kingdom *. * United Kingdom - only UK citizens with unlimited residency in England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man are eligible to enter the US with an ESTA.
Note: Citizens of Curaçao, Bonaire, St. Eustatius, Saba and St. Maarten (of the former Netherlands Antilles) are not allowed to enter the USA under the visa waiver program if they apply for entry with passports from these countries. Applications can be submitted at any time prior to the cruise but DHS recommends submitting applications no less than 72 hours prior to the cruise. In most cases, you will get an answer within seconds.
Application approved
Not Approved: The traveler must apply for a nonimmigrant visa at a US embassy or consulate prior to traveling to the US.
Pending approval: The traveler must access the ESTA website within 72 hours to check the current status and thus receive the final answer.

NOTE: An approved travel authorization is:
• Required for all VWP travelers before departure,
• Valid for up to two years or until the traveller's passport expires, unless it is revoked in the meantime, whichever comes first and
• Valid for multiple entries and NO guarantee for granted entry into the USA.
Schengen-Visa
According to the Schengen Agreement, citizens of certain countries need a valid visa to travel through one of the Schengen countries. 26 European countries are currently involved in the Schengen Agreement. The agreement removes all internal border controls between the participating countries. As soon as you have entered a Schengen country, you can travel within the member states for up to 90 days at a time. If a country that is not party to the agreement is to be visited between visits to Schengen states, a multiple entry visa is required. Most NON-European citizens need a Schengen visa to travel within Europe. The following countries are part of the Schengen Agreement: Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Finland, France (including Monacos), Greece, Italy, Iceland, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Austria, Poland, Republic of Malta , Sweden, Switzerland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Czech Republic and Hungary. Visa requirements vary depending on the passport used and the countries visited. US and Canadian citizens do not need a Schengen visa.
Visa upon arrival
Most nationalities can get the following visas on board upon arrival by ship. Seabourn will procure these visas for you. In general, a small fee is payable, which is billed to your onboard account. If the regulations change in a country you have traveled to, you will be informed as soon as possible. Please make sure that upon arrival the visa is possible with your nationality. Visa processing
Visa processing may differ depending on the travel destination and the place of application. During the main season or when embassies are closed, it may take longer. We recommend that you obtain all of your visas as soon as possible to ensure that you are prepared for an uninterrupted cruise.
 
Cruises to Canada
Applies to all cruises and excursions to Alaska as well as cruises to Canada and New England which visit or cross the Canadian territory: guests who are not citizens of the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, or New Zealand may require a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) to visit or cross Canada. You will be REFUSED to EMBARK without any refund if you do not have the appropriate VISA DOCUMENTATION. Canadian officials will NOT allow guests to remain on board in any port in Canada without proper documentation. If you are NOT a US or Canadian citizen and are entering Canada by air, you may need an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) to fly to or transit through Canada even if you do not need a TRV. To check whether your nationality requires a visa to enter Canada or an eTA, please contact your Canadian Consulate. Please note that regardless of whether you decide to stay on board or to go ashore, you will need a visa for Canada in any case. If you need a visa, you will need to get one before the cruise. The processing times vary depending on your citizenship and can take up to 45 days. Without a visa, you will not be allowed to embark and you will not be refunded. Guests who have committed a crime or have been convicted of a crime may be denied entry to Canada. Almost all convictions (alcohol or drug abuse behind the wheel, reckless driving, negligent driving, drug possession violations, all capital offenses, domestic violence [fourth degree of assault], shoplifting, theft, etc.) will prohibit an individual from entering Canada regardless of how long ago this took place.
Individuals who have been prosecuted or convicted in the past should obtain the necessary documents before planning  entry to Canada.
Cruises to Sri Lanka
An Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) is required prior to arrival in Sri Lanka. This applies to all guests who want to go ashore while the ship is in port, as well as to guests who embark or disembark in Sri Lanka. Once the application is complete, a copy of the confirmation must be printed out and presented to immigration officials upon arrival. A single-entry transit visa for two (2) days is required for most cruises. Guests arriving on two separate occasions may require a double-entry visa, which can be purchased on the website. Those who do not wish to go ashore in Sri Lanka can stay on board without the ETA, but are then not allowed to go ashore for any reason.
Note: The ETA is only valid for 30 days from the date of issue. Guests may need to use the ship's internet service if they arrive in Sri Lanka more than 30 days after their cruise date.
Cruises to Cuba
All guests need a visa to enter Cuba. The type of visa the guest needs will depend on certain factors such as the reason for traveling to Cuba and the place of birth. Most guests are able to enter Cuba with a “Tarjeta Turística” visa (a tourist card). Guests who were born in Cuba are allowed to travel to Cuba by ship. However, all guests who were born in Cuba and want to travel to Cuba by ship must apply for a visa at the Cuban embassy or use a passport issued by Cuba to enter the country. You can request visas and passports directly from the Cuban Embassy at 1 202 797 8518 or through an authorized third party such as ABC Charters at 1 877 817 1160 or Cuba Travel Services at 800 963 2822.

Cruises  to Australia
An ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) or visa is required for Australia and must be obtained prior to the cruise. You will be asked to present your Australian ETA or visa upon check-in. Therefore  carry a printed copy with you. Note: The ETA is bound to the passport number specified in the application. Please ensure that you have this passport with you when traveling. The Australian ETA is not available for all nationalities.

Cruises to Timor-Leste
A visa is required for Timor, which must be purchased on board for a fee for all guests wishing to go ashore. If you do not want to go ashore, you do not need to obtain this visa. Timor requires that all guests entering through the Dili Seaport acquire their visa upon arrival; however, this has to be done on board due to restrictions and ship handling times. Travelers do not have the option of obtaining their visas upon arrival at port as individual application for visas upon arrival can cause delays in the process of clearing the ship by the immigration authorities. Visa processing must take place prior to arrival aboard the ship. Only guests who enter Timor by land have the option of securing their visas in advance of their cruise.

Cruises to Brazil
Effective June 17, 2019, citizens of the USA, Canada, Australia and Japan no longer require a visa for Brazil. Citizens of the United States, Canada, Australia, and Japan who arrive in Brazil before June 17, 2019 still require a Brazilian visa. This visa must be obtained before departure. Citizens of Germany, Mexico, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Austria, Romania, Switzerland and the UK do not need a visa for Brazil. Citizens of countries not listed above should visit their local Brazilian consulate for the correct information. Guests who arrive at the airport without the relevant documents will be denied access to the aircraft. Guests arriving at the pier without proper documentation will be refused embarkation with no right to a refund. Seabourn cannot make visa arrangements for you en route or after your arrival.

Cruises to mainland China
We recommend that all guests obtain a visa for China. While there are some visa-free options, China's visa system is complicated and all requirements must be met. If you failed to obtain a visa and you do not meet the requirements to enter and exit China without a visa, fines may be charged or you may be denied entry to China. US citizens eligible for short-term visas for China can now obtain multiple-entry visas with a validity of up to ten years.
Cruises to Hong Kong, China
Hong Kong is not part of mainland China. Citizens of Australia, Brazil, Germany, Canada, Mexico, the Netherlands, Austria, Romania, Switzerland, the USA and the UK do not need a visa for Hong Kong.
Cruises to India
A visa is required for India whether you choose to stay on board or go ashore. You must obtain the visa in advance of your cruise ; it cannot be purchased upon arrival. If you cannot present a visa for India, you will be refused embarkation on the ship. Guests now have the option of obtaining a traditional Indian visa or an eTV (Electronic Tourist Visa) for cruises visiting the seaports of Mumbai, Cochin or Mangalore. Two blank passport pages are required for the eTV. A blank passport page is required for the traditional Indian visa. All guests are individually screened by Indian immigration officers upon arrival.
Cruises to Turkey
As a German citizen, you can enter Turkey with the following documents: passport, temporary passport, identity card, temporary identity card (with restrictions), children's passport.
Note: Citizens of Brazil, New Zealand, Romania and Switzerland do not need a visa for Turkey.

Cruises to Russia
Citizens of Australia, Brazil, Germany, Canada, Mexico, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Austria, Romania, Switzerland, the United States, and the United Kingdom may require a visa to enter Russia. If you don't go ashore, you don't need a visa to Russia. When taking part in a Seabourn sponsored shore excursion. Seabourn will provide a "blanket visa". This visa is valid for all nationalities. If you would like to go sightseeing on your own, or to go ashore before or after a Seabourn-organized excursion, you will need to obtain your own Russian visa prior to departure.

Reciprocity fee for passengers who enter Chile
The government of Chile requires an entry fee from the following citizens who enter Chile through the international airport. Travelers who enter by land or water do not have to pay this fee. The fees are subject to change at any time without notice.
