The town itself can be divided into two areas: the Baixa de Luanda, the old city district and the more modern Cidade Alta. Start your tour at the harbor and wander through the streets and alleys of the old town with its numerous historical buildings and monuments from the colonial period. Very interesting is also the anthropological museum of Luanda that has a large collection of African art objects, mainly masks. A little bit south of the city you can get detailed information yourself at the Slavery Museum about this sad chapter in history. Nature lovers should also cover by all means the 70 km up to the Kissama National Park, the largest of its kind in entire Angola.
