 History of the cruise line at a glance: from Renaissance Cruises to Azamara
Azamara's mega-yachts once belonged to different cruise lines ; ownership has changed hands several times. Azamara Journey, Azamara Quest, and Azamara Pursuit are three beautiful, nearly identical sister ships launched by the French shipyard Chantiers de l'Atlantique in 2000. The construction of a total of eight identical ships (R One to R Eight) was commissioned by the American cruise line Renaissance Cruises between 1998 and 2001. However, in September 2001, Renaissance Cruises was forced to cease operations due to insolvency and sell all eight ships. R Three and R Four went to Princess Cruises, and the remaining six R-class ships went to a French investor group. The ownership of these ships changed several times. In 2007, the current Azamara Journey (formerly the R Six of Renaissance Cruises) and the current Azamara Quest (formerly the R Seven of Renaissance Cruises) joined Azamara. In 2016, both ships underwent a complete refurbishment and are now embarking on exclusive cruises in a new splendor. The Azamara Pursuit joined the fleet in 2018, then still the Adonia of P&O Cruises, and has since sailed under the Maltese flag. Until 2021, Azamara Cruises was a subsidiary of the world's second-largest cruise company, Royal Caribbean Group Ltd. Since March 15, 2021, the investment company Sycamore Partners has been the new owner of the luxury cruise brand and all its yachts. At the same time, the new owners expanded the Azamara fleet with the purchase of the former Pacific Princess ship. The modernized Azamara Onward has been cruising all over the world since 2022.

The Azamara Journey was the sixth R-Class ship commissioned by Renaissance Cruises and was named R Six. In 2001, the ship was sold to Cruiseinvest and later chartered to the cruise line Pullmantur Cruises. First sailing as Blue Star, then Blue Dream, it was finally acquired by Azamara and renamed Azamara Journey. The Azamara Journey was modernized in 2016 and features all the amenities expected of a luxury cruise ship.  Introducing Azamara Quest
The Azamara Quest was also an R-class ship from Renaissance Cruises. It was renamed R Seven and was also sold to Cruiseinvest. In 2003, Delphin Seereisen chartered the ship and sent it around the world as Delphin Renaissance. In 2005, the ship was sold to the cruise line Pullmantur Cruises and subsequently sailed as Blue Moon. Since 2007, Blue Moon and Blue Dream have sailed for Azamara (later renamed Azamara Club Cruises), a subsidiary of Royal Caribbean International. The Azamara Quest underwent a complete modernization in 2019 and now sails the world's oceans with a new look. Like the Azamara Journey, the Azamara Quest is 180 meters long and 25 meters wide. The breakdown also results in 704 passengers at double occupancy and a crew of 408.  Azamara Pursuit: facts and figures
The Azamara Pursuit has a turbulent past. It was built in 2001 under the name R Eight as the last R-class ship for Renaissance Cruises. Just a few months later, it was put up for sale again due to insolvency. The British cruise line Swan Hellenic bought the ship in 2003 and put it into service under the name Minerva II. Four years later, Princess Cruises bought it and renamed it Royal Princess. P&O Cruises acquired the ship in 2011 and renamed it Adonia. In 2018, Azamara (then Azamara Club Cruises) acquired the Azamara Pursuit, which has since sailed under the Maltese flag. Its dimensions: 180 meters long, 25 meters wide, with a capacity of 702 passengers, 351 cabins and suites, and a crew of 408.

The itineraries of this elegant boutique ship are diverse and exotic: Monaco, Italy, Croatia, Greece, and Montenegro, as well as Jordan, South Africa, Mozambique, Namibia, Angola, and Gambia. Cruises on the Azamara Onward
The newest addition to the fleet is the former Pacific Princess from Princess Cruises. There are four suite and four cabin categories to choose from. The smallest suites, measuring 30.3 square meters (5.6 square meters with a balcony), are the guaranteed Club Suite and the Club Continent Suite. It features a double bed (or two twin beds), a living area with a sofa bed and desk, a bathroom with a bathtub and hairdryer, adjustable air conditioning, and a refrigerator with a minibar. It is equipped with a flat-screen TV, DVD/CD player, telephone, and safe. Club Ocean Suite Those seeking more space can choose the Club Ocean Suite, which ranges in size from 62.6 to 68.2 square meters (21.7 square meters balcony). It also offers a living room, a marble bathroom with a whirlpool, a separate guest bathroom, a desk, and a dressing room with a vanity. Club World Owner's Suite The Club World Owner's Suite is even more luxurious, measuring 73.7 square meters (of which the balcony is 21.7 square meters). This particularly exclusive category offers a walk-in closet, afternoon tea service, and also a living room with a sofa bed. Club Spa Suite Get set, get wellness ready, and enjoy: The two Club Spa Suites on board each ship are particularly exclusive, offering direct access to The Sanctum Spa. They measure 40 square meters (5 square meters balcony) and are located on Deck 9. They offer very special extras, such as a $300 ,-onboard credit per suite. Or how about a private night: perhaps on the Thalassotherapy pool deck with champagne and canapés? Which cabin categories can I book on the Azamara cruise ships?
 Not only the suites, but also the cabins impress with their sophisticated furnishings and elegant, appealing ambience. The amenities are similar – each has a double bed (or two single beds), a bathroom with a hairdryer, a flat-screen TV, a telephone, a safe, adjustable air conditioning, and a refrigerator with a minibar. The Plus Veranda cabins, measuring 20.6–22.3 square meters, feature a 4.3–6 square meter balcony and a desk. The Club Veranda cabin (20 square meters) offers a 3.7 square meter balcony and a living area, some with a sofa bed and a desk. The Club Outside cabins, measuring 13.3–15.8 square meters, have a panoramic window or porthole, a living area, some with a sofa bed, and a desk. The Club Inside cabins are also 14.7 square meters and feature a living area, some with a sofa bed, and a desk.
