Cozumel / Mexico

Cozumel is located off the Yucatan Peninsula and is the largest island of Mexico. The island has developed in recent years thanks to the idyllic beaches, the wide range of water sports options and the Mayan ruins into a popular holiday destination. Cozumel was once a place of pilgrimage for Mayan pilgrims who wanted to pay hojmage to the moon goddess Ixchel.

A visit to the unique and world famous Mayan ruins of Coba tell of an earlier highly advanced civilization. The ruin complex consists of 3,500 sacred monuments, the most famous among them are the "pyramids of Cobá", the "Chumuc ruins" the "Crossword Pyramid" and the "Macanox Ruins". They ride there through the Caribbean jungle is also a treat. In the "Museo de la Isla" in San Miguel de Cozumel visitors can see finds about the natural history of the island. If you rather like it quite comfortably, you can enjoy the famous lagoon" Chankanaab " which with more than 50 species of tropical fish, clams and corals is considered a natural aquarium. Here also expeditions with underwater vessels are offered.
