Riva Tours: MS Sagena

Clean wood, open deck areas, a family atmosphere – and only 18 guests on board. The MS Sagena is not a ship for grand entrances, but for special moments: when sunlight falls on the teak deck, the water gurgles against the side of the ship, and the captain sets course for the next island. There is space here – for freedom, for peace, for the spirit of discovery. The MS Sagena is one of the most comfortable traditional wooden ships in the Adriatic. With its spacious cabins and an inviting salon, it offers plenty of space for retreat and socializing. Half board with breakfast and lunch is naturally included – leaving time in the evening to explore the old towns of Zadar, Split, or Trogir on your own. Captain Joško Kordić, known to regular guests from the MS Vila, steers the ship with love, experience, and a keen sense for his guests' wishes. He is often assisted during the season by his wife Martina and their two daughters – true hospitality, as one would expect in Dalmatia.

At 31 meters long and built in 1991, the MS Sagena is a true original among the classic Adriatic motor sailers in the portfolio of Croatian travel specialist Riva Tours. After its extensive reconstruction in 2007, it now shines in new splendor – charmingly traditional in style, yet modern in comfort and amenities. As a premium-class ship, it accommodates a maximum of 18 guests in just eight cabins – six of which are double cabins, and two are triple cabins. Each cabin is equipped with a shower/toilet, hairdryer, safe, and individually controlled air conditioning. The facilities also include a spacious 100 m² sun deck with 16 deck chairs and two sun loungers – ideal for relaxing under the stars. On the covered aft deck, benches and tables for up to 14 people invite you to socialize. The air-conditioned saloon accommodates all guests simultaneously. Two SUP boards are available free of charge for active hours on the water. Those seeking a thrill can book a fun tube ride for a fee – pulled by the speedy 30-horsepower dinghy. Of course, there's also free Wi-Fi on board, so you can share memories instantly – or simply check the weather forecast for your island-hopping adventure. If you love island hopping but avoid the hustle and bustle, prefer wood to steel, and seek real stories over uniformity, then this is the perfect place for you: The MS Sagena is a floating home for those who travel with their eyes wide open.
