The city wall of Xi'an was built between 1374 and 1378 and renovated in the 1980s. It is the largest, largely preserved city wall in China. With a total length of 13.6 km, it surrounds the city center of Xi'an.
The Grand Mosque: Xi'an's Muslim district is home to the 1250-year-old Grand Mosque of Xi'an. The present building was built in the middle of the 18th century, where mosques are said to have existed in the same place. The building is adapted to the Chinese style and surrounded by gardens. The mosque of Xi'an is one of the largest mosques in China.
The drumming tower dates back to the 14th century. In former times, when the city wall was closed at night, the drawbridge at the four gates was caused by the drum-beat.
