Of the fortifications the citadel gate and the Berlin Wall are preserved whereby the former is a museum today. There is also the dome on the market  with its beautiful vaults and interesting Gothic architecture. There is also the pretty bay house and the water tower. Otherwise, the city was destroyed in the World War II, which is why there is no longer much to see of "the old town".
