Veere is a municipality in the province of Zeeland in the Netherlands. It is home to the seaside resorts of Zoutelande, Westkapelle and Domburg. In the latter the painter Pieter Cornelis Mondrian created many of his works. The municipality of Veere has 22,039 inhabitants, the town of Veere only 1590. Until the end of the 17th century, Veere was an important port city.
