Savonais a town with about 70,000 inhabitants on the Gulf of Genoa and the popular Riviera Coast. Due to its location Savona has a major port for the industry (especially the auto industry) and ferry connections but was already used by ancient mariners as a starting point. As Roman settlement Sabatier is of minor importance, Savona was in the Middle Ages an important commercial city.
