The Isla Santa Cruz is the second largest of the Galapagos Islands. In addition to the diverse flora and fauna, as it can be seen on all Galapagos Islands, there is a developed infrastructure and a research station here. It is located in Puerto Ayora, the place over which the island is usually reached. The aim of the research in Santa Cruz is to preserve the original nature that byt he introduction of foreign breeds such as donkeys and goats is increasingly destroyed. It is named after Charles Darwin whom the Galapagos Islands offered some suggestions for his research.
