The Isla San Cristobal is one of the Galapagos Islands, which was mostly affected by the settlement of people. Its balanced level of water with fresh water resources is pushed back almost entirely today. Also the introduction of farm animals has disturbed the vegetation which is no longer so diverse today. Nevertheless the island with its extinct volcano is worth seeing. The Puerto Baquerizo Moreno has one of the largest ports in the archipelago. It is therefore also a tourist center.
