This island is known for its seabird colonies, especially blue and red-footed boobies. Sea lions fondly linger on to the jetty. From there, they have their territory a good view and sometimes a few minutes clapping and noise is needed to chase them away. Generally it is not to be trifled with animals and you should always keep a generous safety margin. There are also land iguanas on Isla Plaza Sur, and even the vegetation is impressive.
