Half Moon Iceland already impresses at first glance with its beautiful snowy mountains and rocky shores. The island is one of the finest marinas in the Antarctica. Here breed large colonies of Adélie, chinstrap, gentoo penguins as well as as terns, cape petrels, kelp gulls, kelp gulls and blue-eyed shags. Along the shore lie sea elephants and frequently also whales show up along the coast. Also on Half Moon Island  there is the opportunity to visit the small Argentine research station Teniente Camara.
