Dordrecht is a water-rich town in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is the third largest city in the province and is located on the major rivers Oude, Maas and Merwede. There, in the 13th and 14th centuries was the most important Dutch port. The city itself stretches over the whole island of Dordrecht, the core area of the city is located in the northwest. Besides shipyards in town are the wood and metal processing industry as well as a smaller marina.
