Christiansoe / Denmark

The easternmost point of Denmark is located on the small island group Ertholmene, Peas Islands, approximately one hour boat ride from Bornholm. Christiansoe is besides Frederiksoe the largest inhabited island. A suspension bridge connects the two together - around 100 inhabitants live here. They almost live for themselves, because there are neither pets nor cars. The islands themselves are a great fortress and are owned by the Danish Ministry of Defence. Flats and houses in the islands can therefore only be rented.

The islands have their own daily rhythm and course of the year. The rough, original nature of Christiansoe is an experience in itself. In spring everywhere brood eiders and in the summer the blue Baltic Sea invites for a little jump into the water. Solitude, peace and serenity give Ertholmene its distinctive character.
