Bagan is located on the east bank of the Irrawaddy River, a historic royal city in Southeast Asia Myanmar (Burma), 155 km south west of Mandalay. Located on Irrawaddy on which trade routes from China and India meet, Bagan was already in the middle of the 9th century the central place Upper Burma. Under the king Anawrathas (accession in 1044) and his son Kyanzittha Bagan flourished and the kingdom grew to the size of present-day Myanmar. The rulers of Bagan linked their power closely to the Buddhist faith and in only two hundred years in the town about 6000 temples, pagodas and monasteries decorated with sandstone, glazed panels and stucco were built. The hayday of Bagan ended when in 1287 the army of the Mongol prince Kublai Khan took over the city.
Bangkok is since 1782 capital of Thailand, is one of the largest cities in the world and is the political, economic and cultural center of Thailand with universities, colleges, palaces and over 400 wats (Buddhist temples and monasteries). The city lies on the Chao Phraya River and north of the Gulf of Thailand on the average 20 meters above sea level. the Chao Phraya has a width of about 400 meters.

Ho Chi Minh City got this name in 1976 after North and South Vietnam were reunified. It was named after Ho Chi Minh ("the Enlightened One"), a Vietnamese revolutionary and politician, who in 1945 proclaimed the Democratic Republic of Vietnam and later took over the leadership of the country as a state and prime minister. Abroad, the city is still known by its old name: Saigon. With about 3.5 million inhabitants it is the largest city in Vietnam. It lies just north of the Mekong Delta, on the west bank of the Saigon River. Saigon was probably founded between the 1st and 6th century as a fishing village surrounded by marshland by a Khmer people and called Prei Nokor ("forest village"). Until the 17th century the city became a major trading center on the Mekong. Since 1986, Ho Chi Minh City has developing rapidly as financial and economic center of Vietnam.
Hong Kong (English: "fragrant harbor") is a special administrative region of the southern Chinese coast. This is made up of the islands of Hong Kong (with the capital Victoria) and Lantao, many smaller islands, and the Kowloon peninsula with the same-named port city and its hinterland. The urban center - and thus Hong Kong in a narrow sense - are the cities Victoria and Kowloon separated by a strait. Here live more than 4 million people. For a long time British crown colony, Hong Kong returned, due to an agreement concluded in 1984 on July 1 1997 as a special administrative region under Chinese sovereignty.
Koh Samui is an island east of the Isthmus of Kraabout 35 km from the mainland located in the Gulf of Thailand. With 247 km² area Samui is, after Phuket and Koh Chang, the third largest island of Thailand. It is part of the Samui archipelago (Muu Koh Samui), which also includes about 60 other islands; including Koh Phangan, Koh Tao, Koh Nang Yuan and the 40 islands of the Ang Thong National Park. The inland is a mountainous landscape to a large extent covered by forest. The original forest has been cut down to a few remnants long ago to make room for plantations to create. The highest mountain is the 635-m-high Khao Thai Kwai in the southwest of the island.
The Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur ("muddy estuary"), with its two million inhabitants, was founded in 1857, by miners in search of tin. Under British colonial rule Kuala Lumpur was first appointed the administrative center of the country. Today the city is a vibrant, multicultural metropolis, where the old and the new blend harmoniously and excitingly.
