Yandabo / Myanmar

Yandabo is a small village in central Myanmar. The village is located on the Irawadi River. It is rarely visited because it has no road connection to other cities and can only be reached across the river. Thus the supply of the village is restricted.
Yandabo was the site of the treaty between the Burmese king and Great Britain in 1855.

The inhabitants live from what the river offers them and this is mainly qualitative river mud, say clay. With clay, the inhabitants of Yandabo manufacture pottery of all kinds. It is possible to visit the workshops. There is also in Yandabo a monastery which is already more than 400 years old.
