Virgin Gorda, GB-Virgin Islands / Caribbean
Virgin Gorda (2500 inhabitants) is one of the 60 islands that form the group of British Virgin Islands. This Caribbean island chain belongs to the Lesser Antilles and is located about 100 km east of Puerto Rico. Politically, the Virgin Islands are divided between the US-dependent American Virgin Islands (US Virgin Islands) and British Virgin Islands (British Virgin Islands) dependent on Great Britain. With their hidden coves, these islands have long been a refuge for seafarers of all sorts swarming with pirates and freebooters.
Virgin Gorda is a favorite place for sport lovers and nature lovers. The island has more than 20 beaches, including the magnificent Devil's Bay. The most famous sight of British Virgin Islands, The Baths - huge rocks that form a series of natural pools and spectacular grottoes - is located on this island.
