Mingun / Myanmar

Mingun is located on the Irawadi, the largest river in Myanmar (formerly Burma)
Is about 2,100 kilometers long and is formed in the southeast of the Himalayas by the confluence of Mali and Nmai somewhat above Myitkyina and flows from there in some larger arch southwards. At Henzada it branches into several mouth branches, forms a large delta and flows into the Gulf of Martaban in the Andaman Sea.
Myanmar is among the 10 poorest countries in the world, but its inhabitants deserve a top place for friendliness!

In this idyllic place King Bodawhpaya wanted to build the world's largest pagoda in the 18th century, but he could never finish the building. But even today it is still the largest brick building in the world. The great gaping scar originates from an earthquake from the 19th century.
One thing has succeeded: the cast of the largest sounding bell in the world.
